2NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY: Issued 3rd single Wharram (closed 5/6/1950) to Bainton (closed 20/9/1954). The full date is illegible and there is a little Bd and a cancellation clip, but this is a rare item from two of the lesser-used country stations in East Yorkshire. The low number of the ticket indicates that this was not a common journey. (1)£50

This company re-opened and electrified the former Dudley & Stourbridge Steam Tramways route in 1898, but passed into the hands of the Birmingham Midland Tramways Joint Committee on 1/7/1904. 112THE HARTLEPOOL ELECTRIC TRAMWAYS ½d buff geographical punch type TRAM TICKET for the Foggy Furze route with the stages Church Street – Elswick Road – Foggy Furze. The company was authorised to rebuild the defunct 3’ 6” gauge Hartlepool Steam Tramways which closed in 1891 using overhead electric power and was opened on 19th May 1896 finally reaching nearly 7 miles in length. West Hartlepool Corporation took over the system in August 1912. The system finally succumbed to trolleybus replacement when the Seaton Carew line closed on 25th March 1927. 486SCOTTISH REGION WHOLE EDMONDSONS: A postcard box containing around 2,850 tickets issued in 1970. The majority are from stations in Scotland, but there are a few from English stations to Scottish destinations. Many are the short-lived dual currency prints; and there are issues from a wide variety of stations, with some now destaffed. Inevitably, there is some duplication, but no more than half a dozen examples of any individual print. – while many are ‘one-offs’. 500AND FINALLY ….. Four albums detailing various aspects of the journeys of a railway enthusiast between 1960 and 1967, plus a further album covering the 1950s. These albums contain tickets purchased on the occasions – some 300 Pre-Nat and BR whole Edmondsons, plus c.150 miscellaneous other issues – but also 76 contemporary photos, the odd handbill and luggage label, and even a closure notice for the service between Blisworth and Banbury. Many of the journeys were made around the times of closure, with a preponderance in the area west of Salisbury/Southampton. Certainly worth detailed examination. (Qty)£620
