6LONDON STREET TRAMWAYS: A 1¾” x 3½” thin card HORSE TRAM TICKET available for a 2d single journey between North London Railway Station Camden Road & Highgate Archway Tavern Upper Holloway. The ticket has an advertisement for Epps’s Cocoa on the side with the journey details, while on the back there is a coloured lithograph of a child with some geese, below which are the conditions of travel. Research into tickets of this type indicates that they date from 1876, and that the purpose of the lithographs may have been to encourage people to keep their tickets rather than discard them.
