|244||THE HIGHLAND SUTHERLAND AND DUKE OF SUTHERLAND AND SUTHERLAND AND CAITHNESS RAILWAYS 1/-d Joint PARCEL LABEL № 34 printed on green paper with black text. The Duke of Sutherland's Railway was built by the Duke when the Sutherland Railway, which had powers to build north to Brora, stopped at Golspie. He also built the next 11 miles to West Helmsdale, also known as Gartymore. He operated the line from opening on 1 November 1870 until the extension to Helmsdale and north into Caithness was built, from when the Highland Railway took over the running of the line. West Helmsdale closed on 9 November 1871. The Highland Railway absorbed the line into their own network on 31 July 1884. An extremely rare example in excellent, virtually mint, condition. (1)||£75|
|305||WANTAGE TRAMWAY. Two thin card pre-printed tickets, one with reference C12, is a 2nd class Sgl from Wantage to Oxford Lane, the other, Ref G11, also a 2nd class Sgl, from Wantage Road to Oxford Lane. The tramway closed in 1925. (2)||£30|
