501LPTB/LT (BUSES) PROOF FARE-BOARD BUS TICKETS. A carton of almost 1,000 printer’s proofs for services 32-51 dating from July 1933 to late 1940s. Most fronts and backs are printed on separate card, although a few complete examples may appear. The fronts do not usually have the large fare value overprint, the value appearing in the text on both fronts and backs of each ticket, which is printed on the appropriate colour card for its value. Almost all have the date of approval by LPTB at the top in ink; a few are also overstamped “cancelled.” Not all changes may be represented on each route and, in some cases, only the side of the ticket with changes appears.
