150NORTH BRITISH RAILWAY ordinary 3rd class single Haymarket-Haymarket for the full trip round the circle formed by the Edinburgh Suburban & Southside Railway which opened on 1st December 1884. Issued and clipped, but not date stamped, the ticket is an 1890s print, so possibly precedes 1st July 1903 when the round trip booking may have been withdrawn following the opening of the Leith Central branch and the basing of the circular service at Leith. 453LPTB/LT (BUSES) PROOF FARE-BOARD BUS TICKETS. A carton containing just over 1,000 printer’s proofs for services 52-73/73A dating from July 1933 to late 1940. Most fronts and backs are printed on separate card, although a few complete examples may appear. The fronts do not usually have the large fare value overprint, the value appearing in the text on both fronts and backs of each ticket, which is printed on the appropriate colour card for its value. Almost all have the date of approval by LPTB at the top in ink; a few are also overstamped “cancelled.” Not all changes may be represented on each route and, in some cases, only the side of the ticket with changes appears.
