However, some tickets may have paper, glue or Sellotape residue on the back due to previous album mounting. Unfortunately, due to limitations of space, we may not have always pointed this out in the catalogue description, for which we apologise in advance. Customers should satisfy themselves as to the condition of the tickets prior to bidding.

PHOTOCOPIES OF LOTS

Where possible, photocopies of particular lots will be supplied upon request. Large lots in terms of size or shape and bundles of tickets, labels or other material will not be considered practicable. This applies also to fragile material or material that we consider may be harmed by bright light. The charge for this service is 10p per A4 side plus postage. This will be added to your invoice when you register at the Cash Desk or upon despatch of lots from successful postal bids. Colour photocopies can be supplied on request but at higher charge. Please ask for quotation.


SECURITY NOTICE

Please note that certain lots of tickets, especially those thought to be of higher value/quality, have been sealed using Sellotape or, in the case of single items, are located on a separate viewing table under scrutiny. It is regretted that it will be impossible for potential purchasers to view the backs of certain tickets in some of these lots. Bags and overcoats are not permitted in the viewing area.

195ELHAM VALLEY MILITARY RAILWAY apparently unused and undated 2d Rtn 3rd Class Military pink thin card ticket valid in War Department Trains between Canterbury South (EVMR) - Canterbury West (SR) and back in excellent condition. The passenger service was suspended between Lyminge - Canterbury from 25/10/1940. On 1/1/1940 the SR officially withdrew services north of Lyminge and handed the line over to Railway Operating troops. The WD undertook running of the daily goods train on behalf of the SR whose staff remained at all stations. In addition, the WD ran their own recreation trains on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The general public were allowed to ride on these trains at their own risk. The fare between Lyminge and Canterbury was 6d return. In March 1944 the line was inspected shortly before derequisitioning by the WD. (1)£130
