The Cosy Bus Co. tickets show an address of 29 Birches Head Road Hanley and are probably from a different operator. Evans & Finney were absorbed by T. Beckett in 1930. The Greyhound tickets show the operator as M.E. Allen & Sons of Sneyd Green, Hanley, a company absorbed by PMT in 1935. All in VGC. (13) | £150 |

| 6 | MATLOCK URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL CABLE TRAMWAY: An untitled buff coloured 2¼” x 1¼” TRAM TICKET headed “Special Local Tickets : Up Journey Only”. Part of the text reads “This Ticket along with ONE PENNY must be handed to the Conductor, who will issue in exchange a 2d Ticket”. It was, in fact, a coupon torn from a pad, which had initially been purchased by a local resident / ratepayer. The arrangement was introduced in July 1910 and it is believed that this coupon probably dates from around that time, and was almost certainly produced by a local printer. In any case, it precedes December 1917 when the Up fare was increased from 2d to 3d. (1) | £55 |
| 7 | GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY undated “Emigrant’s Ticket” for a 3rd class single journey from Liverpool Landing Stage to London Paddington issued on board the White Star Line steamer “Megantic”. This vessel, which was named after the lake in Quebec, was built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast and launched in 1908. Perhaps its most famous passenger was Dr Hawley Harvey Crippen, who was arrested in Canada in 1910 and escorted back to England where he was hanged for murder! (1) | £170 |
